Nice weekend with Luke.

Well our nephew Luke visited us this past weekend. He was here for work and had Saturday off and Sunday afternoon. We went out to dinner and then to Barnes and Noble , yeah I know we're are so much fun. Anyway, we ended up coming to our house and watching "The Forbidden Kingdom". The kids absolutely loved having their cousin around. Drew, who had never met him before this weekend, was sad to see him go. He wanted him to come back to our home today, but I told him he was going home today.

The kids have been trying out new activites and they seem to like it . Tori quit soccer after 4 years, she was burnt out and now has decided to try out for the girls basketball team in the middle school. Tyler will be playing flag football for the very first time and started cello classes last week. Drew is now taking karate classes and he seems to like it. well, sometimes. Dallin- he's started to drive mama nuts. That is his new activity. Troy and I have just been trying to get housework done when we have time. As this very moment Dallin is crying and is demanding my attention so that means it's time to log off. Until next time.

Life is like a box of Chocolates....

It seems like my days have been running rapid. I don't know why. I don't if it's a good thing or a bad one. Kids are in so many activities I wonder if I'm giving them too much in their life.
On another note, I hear of all these horrible things happening in our economy and fear will I be able to provide a happy normal enviornment for my childen. i don't stress this to Troy because he doesn't need to worry about this as well. I just need to remind myself when I go out to purchase items I need to think to myself, "do I need this or is it a want?" i'm constantly reminded to live within our means, but sometimes I find myself justifying my purchases. Not Good! Anyway, it's not a hard thing to do. I will do all that I need to do to make my family's life easier and less stressful.

Life as a Kid.

We survived! O.k it didn't even get close to us. I think we got a few showers at night that lasted about 5 minutes. You never know how mother nature will act.
I've been looking through old photos of mine and I came across an old photo of my two cousins and I when we were kids. It's funny because we were close in age but I was the only girl. Most of the time we had to play boys stuff or there had to be girlie things involved. Anyway, I came across a photo of the three of us with my grandfather and it brought back so many memories of when things were so easy for us. All we had to do was show up to a family gathering and play nice. Now a days, as a parent, we have to worry where the kids are and are they safe. I didn't have to clean up after dinner or wash dishes. Life was great. At least I thought so. I figured I would be a stinker and embarrass myself and my cousins whom I hope visit my blog. Well enjoy and don't laugh too much.

HANG ON!

I know I shouldn't joke like this but there could be a hurricane coming our way. If Hurricane Ike stays to the north then we'll just wind forces of 40 mph, but if the hurricane heads south then we will get hurricane forces in our neighborhood. My son Tyler is freaking out. We don't even want to mention it to Drew because he'll go crazy and there is no stopping him. I am disappointed to say I am not prepared with batteries so I'll be heading out to Costco in a bit.
We'll let you know how it turns out.

Tired of Cleaning and Seeing no Results

So I started cleaning the house and slowly redecorating and it looks nothing like I pictured it would look like. I invisioned my house to sparkle or to be envied because I have a house full of kids and it looks like a model home. Yeah right! Anyway, I started to paint Tori's room in stripes and i feel my arm and hand beginning to go numb as I'm typing. I wish I'd spend more time making my room nice and pretty. Moms always their kids first I guess. Someday, I don't know say in seven years my home will sparkle.
